We’ve recently had the privilege of returning to work on the canal-side terrace at Rotunda Bar & Restaurant, close to London’s King’s Cross.

We have reconfigured the terrace, which we originally designed, built and styled 3 years back. The archway structure still remained and has been redressed many times over the past few years as part of other brand activations. We were delighted they called us back in to restyle and refresh the space, right in time for summer!

This latest transformation is in partnership with luxury English sparkling wine brand Roebuck Estates to create the Roebuck Garden. This terrace install will be in place until at least September, which, in UK terms, means it needs to handle everything the weather throws at it!

When we design an installation, we always bear in mind the environmental elements. With this being an outdoor structure in the UK, of course, we need to make sure it withstands wind and rain. Especially at Rotunda as the terrace can sometimes turn into a wind tunnel, ensuring that everything remains safe and where it’s meant to be, whilst keeping the wild garden aesthetic and client vision.

We’ve chosen very natural-looking faux florals which will bloom all summer long, and look stunning. We’ve loved seeing the reactions when people have realised they aren’t actually real.

They have also partnered with Global Generation, a local educational charity which installed all the real green-fingered planting. The combination of our faux florals alongside their living plants works beautifully, and gives the terrace genuine depth and texture.

Creating designs that last is our specialism and keeping in mind from the very first concept to design installs which can be toured, reconstructed and customised for different spaces.
