The venue for this event was MC motors – a popular venue for photo shoots, and filming due to its exposed brick work and natural character.  The event was to have a slightly slanted view on the traditional Christmas the brief was for an alternative slant on Christmas!  Working in conjunction with A Current Affair LLP, our styling included a gypsy caravan site with V W Camper Van photo booth and some old fashioned arcade games with branded prizes.  We adorned the walls with taxidermy, fairground neon lights and alternative Christmas decorations to brighten the venue up, transporting the guests out of Dalston, for one night only.

To incorporate the Christmas feel we also created an advent calendar of branded goods within the venues old lockers and fashioned an ‘apocalyptic’ tree decorated with broken lights, newspaper decorations and dead flowers (‘nouveau derelicte!’).

Other events that we worked on included transforming the ground floor of a large international banking headquarters into a magical winter wonderland based on the Christmas favorite Narnia.

As well as a press release of forthcoming toy trends, for which we styled the venue with flowing white drapes, over sized gift boxes and giant Christmas stockings.

After the fun of Christmas 2012 we are already looking ahead to this Christmas and encourage you to join us! Adorned with beautiful garlands, floral candles and intricate wall hangings, Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Light is one of our favourite times of the year. We’ve previously completed various events for the festival, and we’re currently  looking forward to the colourful visual feast on November 13th, when the five day long celebration begins.

Traditionally warm colours prevail,  and for future Diwali themed events, and as pictured in our previous event above, we’re thinking of sparkling rooms full of candles floating in water, coloured floors of Rangoli, which are decorative designs made from a rice flour paste or coloured chalk, and beautiful flowers such as lilies and jasmine.  

Glittering lights, bright colours and large festivities are intrinsic parts of many other celebrations, including the events surrounding Bonfire Night, which is celebrated on the fifth of November. At Partridge Events, we love the glamour and excitement that comes with these sparkling occasions and we’re looking forward to creating any celebratory parties that you may need. As British Summer time comes to an end and the evenings draw in, naturally thoughts turn to the beautiful light that only comes with Autumn, crisp orange leaves crunching underfoot and breezy but bright days with a mug of hot chocolate in hand. With this in mind we’ve started to gather inspiration for the perfect Autumn Wedding. Collecting tones that mimic the changing colours of the season, our moodboard is full of dusky orange, pink and grey, with splashes of traditional gold and cream, set against a rustic background.
For this time or year we know that great lighting is a key element in creating a perfect event, and for this specific rustic but glamorous kind of wedding, twinkling strings of overhead lights, and lanterns placed all around, give the feel of the same warming glow of Autumn sunshine. We’re in love with the quirky designs featured below of apples hung from chairs, antlers  hung on the walls, birdcages and painted frames.

With our favourite spooky event just around the corner, we’re thinking of ways to glam up Halloween events and turn them into bespoke celebrations of everything dark and deadly. Thinking of gloomy, rich colour palettes of ivory, black and midnight blues, we’ve collected moodboard images of roses crawling with  all manner of insects and creepy candelabras fit for any Gothic event.

Straying away from the traditional orange and black colour scheme, this beautifully blue image by our absolute design hero Preston Bailey, showcases the kind of aesthetic we love at Partridge Events. With a huge sense of drama and elegance, the floral decor and glittering lights could be perfect for a Halloween event. Finally, not forgetting the classic pumpkin, we’ve found ideas that make them stand out and transform them into gorgeous, glowing centerpieces. Celebrating its fifty years of style, this year and with the premier of brand new film Skyfall, the James Bond franchise is currently right on trend as lavish, inherently British and hugely influential with its iconic style. After visiting the James Bond exhibition that was recently at the Barbican, and thinking of previous 007 themed events we’ve created and looking ahead to future ones, we’ve been gathering tailored glamour inspiration via our James Bond blog and Pinterest boards. As well as the film hitting cinemas this October, you can also get excited by following Bond film stars as they complete a week long tour of the UK in a helicopter and an Aston Martin DBS, carrying the first copy of the Bond 50 blu-ray collection. After getting excited about the retro decor from previous Bond films, and other Mid-Century decorated sets such as Mad Men, we’re also thinking about the retro designs we’ve created. This month we travelled to Birmingham NEC to take part in the largest gift buying event of the season. An amazing way to keep up with the latest trends and the hottest designers, we participated by creating Mid-century displays with retro furniture perfect for any Mad Men themed event.

With all the madness surrounding London Fashion Week lately, we’ve also been taking part in some catwalk installations of our own. We were recently lucky enough to work in conjunction with one of our clients to be a part of a new A/W 2012 collection fashion launch within their Regent Street store. Supplying lighting, window vinyls and a catwalk to provide a perfect backdrop to the gorgeous clothes pictured for Vogue’s infamous Fashion Night Out, we managed to help transform one of the participating stores into a wonderful fashion show. With the recent launch of the newest film adaptation of classic Russian novel Anna Karenina being full of decadent dresses, beautiful Russian revival architecture and snowflakes, we’ve been thinking about the winter season and all the glamorous parties that come with it. From our previous Russian themed events, to opulent interiors and Autumn/Winter 2012 fashion trends, we’ve brought together our favourite inspirations for Christmas.

Featuring Russian revival architecture, opulent patterns and decedent dresses, the aesthetic of the new film fits right in with Partridge Events’ style, ethos, and love of glamour. Take a look at our brand new Pinterest board,  ‘Russia With Love’ for some Russian event inspiration that perfectly echoes current Autumn/Winter 2012 trends. For future events we’ve been thinking, huge floral displays, ceiling roses, twinkling lights and ornate furniture. Perfect for a luxurious Russian winter theme or Christmas Event that’s as beautiful and romantic as a 19th century ball.

Nothing conjures up themes of lavish glamour, high end brands, dapper gentlemen and beautiful women quite like James Bond. With the impending new film Skyfall, out on October 29^th, here at Partridge Events we’ve been reminiscing about the previous glitzed filled, Bond themed parties we’ve created, and getting excited at the prospect of new ones.

Celebrating its 50^th Anniversary this year, the James Bond franchise is currently bang on trend, featuring in everything from the London 2012 Olympics to the Barbican, where Designing 007, an exhibition filled with his ‘fifty years of style’, iconic memorabilia and classic posters, gleans its walls in homage to the influential movie brand. Highlights of the exhibition include costumes by Queen of maximalist patterns and opulence, Donatella Versace, as well as classic brands known for amazing tailoring such as Armani and Prada, gadgets and technology featured in the films and wonderful set pieces and props that are a great source of inspiration to us when creating the themed events we’re renowned for.

Using London as its base location, as seen in the official trailer, Skyfall features the Union Jack, National Gallery, beautiful British architecture and our rather stereotypical brooding, grey skies. Inspired by this, as well as the glamour of French actress Bérénice Marlohe and the gorgeous suits of Mr Bond himself, we’ve been brainstorming classic colour combinations that channel the Bond themes, and would transform any venue into sumptuous 007 event.

Tones of gold and black form a beautiful table aesthetic, especially when paired with a dash of light grey and classic sparkle, and the gold tipped glasses featured below are a great, cost effective way to brighten up any corporate event, private party or product launch. Also inspiring us are these Celine bracelets created for Autumn/Winter 12, ceiling roses, baroque panelling, chandeliers and amazing Givenchy dresses that require an immense amount of detailing, quite similar to the thought and detail in our own work, as seen in our previous events.

All this Bond inspiration has gotten us excited, thinking about the many different, unique services, ideas and themes we could come up with for any kind of event you could want to host. From 007 live entertainment, floral décor to mimic classic British visuals and flowers, props that echo the past 50 years of iconic entertainment and a glamorous, relaxed atmosphere, Partridge Events can visualise an unforgettable event for you.

Recycle

It is very important to us working in the events industry that we help our environment, economy and society by recycling and re-using. There are fantastic projects set up that recycle perfectly good materials from the event and exhibition industry that are given to children and adults to create works of art.

 Childen’s SCRAP Project

The Children’s SCRAP Project works hard to collect valuable waste from various industries which can be recycled to give children and adults the chance to create art.  The project collects reusable waste, e.g toys, paper, card, materials, to help reduce the amount of recyclable goods sent to landfill. The materials can then be used for education and play purposes. The image below demonstrates how it works:

Previous Events

The Children’s SCRAP Project has reminded us of some of our previous events centered around sustainability. MPI’s (Meeting Professional International) yearly conference at the Excel London was the start of the implemented guidelines BS 8901 to help with the planning and management of sustainable events. 

With the main discussion of the conference being ‘Sustainability Within The Events Industry’ we wanted to ensure that everything we used to design the space could be recycled. Each supplier provided their mileage to find out their carbon footprint and was off-set by the planting a tree, every last flower was given to the local Women’s Refuge, with the pulled up carpet being turned into car tires (Reed Carpets). 

This was the first event ever recorded where everything used was 100% friendly to our economy, environment and society!

Fiona Pelham, the voluntary chair of ISO 20121 (developed from BS 8901) explains “We now have an international standard which will support the event industry to work in a way which will address its environmental, economic and social impacts.
